CPS and CPM measure the same thing on different time scales.
- CPS = clicks per second
- CPM = clicks per minute
How to convert
CPM = CPS × 60 and CPS = CPM ÷ 60.
| CPS | CPM |
|---|---|
| 3 | 180 |
| 5 | 300 |
| 8 | 480 |
| 10 | 600 |
| 12 | 720 |
Which should you use?
CPS is easier to feel and compare, so most click tests use it. CPM suits long-running tasks and some game statistics. Our CPS test shows both.
An important caveat
Multiplying a short burst by 60 flatters you. A 10 CPS burst over 2 seconds is not 600 CPM sustained for a minute — nobody clicks that fast for that long. For a realistic CPM, use the 60 second test.
