5 Second CPS Test

Five seconds is the most widely used CPS benchmark — long enough to settle into a rhythm, short enough to stay a fair test of speed rather than endurance.

How to use the 5 Second CPS Test

  1. Click the box as fast as you can for the full 5 seconds.
  2. Try to maintain a steady rhythm rather than starting fast and fading.
  3. Compare your score against the level table below.

Understanding your results

The 5 second window is long enough to average out a lucky or unlucky first click, making it the most representative single-run benchmark on this site. It's also what our level system (Beginner through Legendary) is calibrated against, so your 5 second score is the most directly comparable to the level targets.

About the 5 Second CPS Test

Because it balances burst speed with a small amount of endurance, the 5 second CPS test is the closest thing to a standard benchmark in the clicking community — most CPS comparisons you'll see online use this duration by default.

Tips to improve

  • Aim for a consistent rhythm rather than an all-out sprint that fades by the third second.
  • Warm up with a 1 second test first to loosen up your hand.
  • Track your score over several runs in the same session — your best usually improves after a warm-up.

Frequently asked questions

It's long enough to smooth out one-off lucky or unlucky clicks, but short enough that fatigue doesn't dominate the result — a good balance for comparing scores.

Yes — the level thresholds (3, 5, 7, 9 CPS and beyond) are calibrated around the 5 second test.
