Short, structured practice raises CPS faster than random clicking. This four-week plan takes 5 to 10 minutes a day. Always warm up first, and stop if your hand hurts.
Warm-up (every session)
- Open and close your hand ten times.
- Roll your wrists gently.
- Do two easy 5 second tests at about 70% effort.
Week 1 — rhythm
- 3 × 5 second tests, resting 30 seconds between.
- 1 × 30 seconds of even, steady clicking at a pace you could keep all day.
Week 2 — speed bursts
- 5 × 1 second tests, resting 15 seconds.
- 3 × 10 second tests at a controlled pace.
Week 3 — stamina
- 2 × 30 second tests with a full minute of rest.
- 1 × 15 second test aiming for a flat, even pace.
Week 4 — technique and testing
- Practise your chosen technique (jitter or butterfly) in 5 to 10 second bursts.
- Finish with 3 × 5 second tests and compare with week 1.
Rules for staying healthy
- Never push through pain.
- Rest at least a day between hard sessions if you feel tired.
- Keep your wrist relaxed and supported.
